BIO

Originally from Liverpool, Chess trained at The Royal Ballet School (2001- 06) and Elmhurst Ballet School (2006 - 07). They studied physics at Imperial College London (2009 - 2013) and completed a PhD in nanotechnology at the University of Cambridge (2013 - 18); and continued to work in Cambridge as a scientific researcher for a short time after. During their time in Cambridge, they danced, taught and choreographed with Cambridge Contemporary Dance.

 They have been working as a dancer and a model since 2018. Some notable projects: Julie Cunningham & Company London’s Art Night 2019, Naples Theatre Festival 2019, a dance residency at The Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne, Australia 2019 and a Sadler’s Wells Theatre commission in 2020. They have worked on several improvisation projects for artist Nicole Bachmann in 2021-22 and for Clod Ensemble in 2021. As a model they have done editorial shoots, a Dazed Beauty interview in 2019, Boots and Barclaycard TV adverts in 2021-22, London Queer Fashion Show 2022.
